What is Cellulite?
Cellulite, also known as ‘orange peel skin,’ occurs when fat cells build up underneath the skin, causing lumps and dimples. It arises from the pressure exerted by increased fat cells against the skin, resulting in a textured outer surface. Treatments to eliminate cellulite are diverse depending on the type of cellulite you have. Cellulite, often referred to as ‘orange peel skin,’ is a common skin condition characterized by an alteration in the subcutaneous tissue, leading to the formation of noticeable dimples or bumps.
Cellulite develops in the hypodermis, the deepest layer of the skin. Adipocytes, or fat cells, accumulate in this layer to regulate body temperature. However, excessive fat accumulation can push against the skin, creating the small dimples or bumps associated with cellulite.
Grade 1 Cellulite
There is visible cellulite only under pressure. Fat cells under the skin are accumulating water (edema) and fat; therefore, fat cells are becoming more prominent.
Grade 2 Cellulite
Your skin is smooth when you stand up, but mild dimpling appears when you sit down. There is an “orange-peel” appearance, with between 1 and 4 shallow depressions
Grade 3 Cellulite
Your skin has moderate dimples when you stand up or when you sit down. There are between five and nine medium-depth depressions, a “cottage cheese”
Grade 4 Cellulite
Your skin has severe dimples the “mattress” appearance, with ten or more, deep depressions, and the skin looks severely draped.
While cellulite is often associated with being overweight, it is important to note that it is not exclusively related to body weight. Other factors that can contribute to cellulite formation include:
- Genetics: Certain individuals may have a predisposition to developing cellulite due to inherited factors.
- Hormonal changes: Fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels can affect the distribution of fat cells.

Results can vary, but most clients begin to see noticeable improvements after 3 to 6 sessions, with sessions spaced a week apart.
What areas of the body can be treated?
Common treatment areas include the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and upper arms. Ultrasound cavitation can effectively reduce localized fat deposits in these areas.
Is cellulite treatment a safe procedure?
Yes, treatments are fully safe as long as there are no contraindications for th etreatment which are always discussed on the initial consultation. All our body treatments are non-surgical and non-invasive with minimal to no downtime.
How long does each treatment session last?
Each session typically lasts between 30, 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
Do I need to follow any special guidelines before or after treatment?
Yes, it’s recommended to drink plenty of water before and after the treatment to help your body process the fat. Avoiding alcohol and caffeine on the day of treatment is also advised. Have light meals and wear comfortable clothing
Can ultrasound cavitation be combined with other treatments?
Yes, we actually highly recommend combining ultrasound cavitation with other treatments like lymphatic drainage massages / vacuum massage or madrotherapy massage. This combination can enhance fat reduction and skin tightening effects.
